Where Is Joe Giudice Today? Gia and Teresa Giudice Share the Latest After His Deportation

Gia Giudice is opening up about where she stands with her dad, Joe Giudice, today, after his deportation. The Next Gen NYC cast member has been open about how her dad not living in the United States has impacted her, and did so during Next Gen NYC Season 2, Episode 6.

During the episode, Gia moved into her new apartment in New Jersey without the help of her dad. Although she was able to FaceTime him while she moved out of her mom, Teresa Giudice’s, New Jersey house, she admitted in a confessional that she hated that he missed this milestone in her life. “It’s just times like this where I miss my dad so much,” she explained in a confessional.

She continued, opening up about his deportation. “In 2015, my dad served three-and-a-half years in federal prison. My parents got indicted for not filing tax returns from 2004 to 2008. And because he was not an American citizen, my dad was deported in 2019 to Italy. After moving to Italy, he moved to the Bahamas,” Gia noted. “He can’t come back to the U.S. unless he’s pardoned, and we’ve made plenty of efforts to try to get him back to the States one day.”

Gia Giudice shares an update on her dad Joe Giudice’s deportation
Gia appeared on Good Day New York in August 2026, where she opened up about her efforts to get her dad back into the US. “We just filed a humanitarian packet for him, just kind of trying to do everything we can to get him pardoned and hopefully come back or even just on visitation,” she said in a clip posted to YouTube. “We’re still trying to do that and trying to do everything we can. I mean, I think any family would want their dad home.”

Where does Joe Giudice stand with Teresa Giudice today?
Teresa also shared her take on Joe’s deportation during Episode 1 of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th. “The past 15 years, I know everybody thinks I’m on TV and it’s so fun, it’s not fun. I’ve gone away, I signed a refinance that my ex-husband told me to sign, used my credit,” she admitted. “Never in a million years did I think I was gonna go to jail for that.”

Still, Teresa has said that she keeps in touch with Joe after they finalized their divorce in 2020 (more on that below).

Why was Joe Giudice deported?
Joe Giudice was deported in 2019 following his release from federal prison after serving three-and-a-half years there due to not filing his tax returns from 2004 to 2008. Because he was not an American citizen, Joe was deported to his home country of Italy.

Is Joe Giudice still living in Italy?
No, Joe Giudice is still not living in Italy. “Juicy Joe,” as Teresa used to refer to him, is currently living in the Bahamas, which is a short flight away from his friends and family members living in the United States. Joe opened up about his decision to move to the Bahamas during a Jan. 2025 appearance on Teresa’s podcast.

“You grow up someplace, you get used to everything. I mean, that’s why I adapt[ed] here in the Bahamas, Nassau, because it’s kind of like Americanized, and I always see American people here. So, I kind of feel like I’m close to home,” he explained during the episode. “When I was in Italy, it wasn’t really the same. It was nice, but it just felt far. Like, here, it’s close. It’s only two-and-a-half hours away, and I guess because everybody comes and visits me, I don’t feel like I’m too far.”
