Kyle Richards is very excited for her youngest daughter, Portia Umansky, to head off to college this fall. The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th cast member and mom of four will be sending Portia off to study at a college in Colorado very soon and has some feelings about this.
Kyle spoke with Bravo Insider earlier this month, where she admitted that she is teaching Portia one important skill before she goes off to attend the University of Colorado – Boulder. “We’re starting laundry lessons next week, this upcoming week,” she said.
But Kyle revealed that it will be hard for her to send her youngest daughter off into the world. Luckily, she has her second-youngest daughter, Sophia Umansky, still living at her home in Encino with her. “I’m really prepping myself psychologically because she is my baby, the youngest,” she added. “Thank God I still have Sophia living at home with me.”
Kyle Richards reveals why bringing Portia Umansky to college is “exciting” and “scary”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member continued, revealing that she will be dropping Portia off at college with all of her family members. This includes Kyle’s daughters Sophia, Alexia Umansky, and Farrah Aldjufrie, as well as her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky. But she told Bravo Insider she isn’t necessarily looking forward to having her baby to be a plane ride away.
“We’re planning to drop her off together as a family, and she’s going to be living in Boulder, going to school there, so it’s exciting, but it’s also really scary,” she added. “I’m just trying to focus on the exciting part, and I’m grateful that she’s not a 5-hour flight away from me like her sisters were.”

Where is Portia Umansky going to college?
Portia is going to the University of Colorado – Boulder. She announced in May that she will be studying communications at the university.

Kyle Richards opens up about being an empty nester in the future
Kyle also admitted to Bravo Insider in her chat with us in August that she’s scared that Portia’s absence will lead to Sophia moving out of the house. “I know that once she leaves, Sophia will leave,” she stated. “I think Sophia’s not been leaving because she felt guilty to leave both Portia and me after Alexia and Mau moved out. So I know that I’m gonna go from having a house filled with six people down to just me. And that’s a very scary feeling. I’m very excited for Portia, but she’s my last one. So I’m just bracing myself.”
